Kathleen
is a native Floridian, and currently resides in Longwood with her
husband, Mike. Oils are her favorite medium. She enjoys depicting
the scenes which were a part of her life growing up in the Orlando
area. Like so many artists, she feels an urgency to paint this
disappearing landscape. Before discovering painting Kathleen spent
many years creating weavings, using natural dyes she obtained from
native plants. This, along with being an avid gardener, has given
her a lifelong appreciation for Florida’s vegetation. Kathleen
paints in a traditional manner, working both outdoors on location,
as well as in her home studio. She enjoys the challenge of trying to
capture Florida’s subtle, fragile beauty.
